Oktatás célja
This course aims to take a closer look at the representation of migrants and migration history through the blockbusters provided by Hollywood.
Tantárgy tartalma
The course is built up of readings and award-winning movies that detail the hard or sometimes easy life of those who chose to become part of the American reality. Each class is designed to instigate discussion about cultural differences displayed by the narratives told through Hollywood and the endless search for achieving the American Dream
Számonkérés és értékelés
Come to every single class. The university allows you to miss three (3) classes, if you miss four (4) you fail for the entire semester. This includes the first week as well. I take a note of all late students. You will have to read for each class and watch 6 movies. Finally, you will have to write one essay, a film analysis, based on the criteria discussed in class.
