Learning outcomes
This is an advanced course which seeks to introduce students to Old English grammar and linguistic phenomena.
Course content
The course will teach students how to look at material in the source language and teach them how to systematically analyze and translate into modern, idiomatic English. Students will look at and analyze Old English texts including but not limited to Beowulf. Course material will be provided in class.
Assessment method
Attendance is required, and the three absence rule will be enforced by the logging of attendance each week. There will be weekly quizzes during each class, and one midterm and one final.
