- Course content
- Introduction to Human Ecology is an interdisciplinary course that explores the complex interactions between humans and their environment. This course introduces students to the basic concepts and principles of human ecology, including population dynamics, ecosystem processes, and sustainability. Through a combination of lectures, discussions, readings, and case studies, students will gain a comprehensive understanding of the role of humans in shaping and being shaped by the natural environment. Students will explore the various factors that affect human behaviour and its impact on the environment, including social, economic, and political factors. The course will cover a range of topics, including the history of human ecology, ecological systems, resource management, environmental health, and environmental policy. Students will also learn about the various tools and methods used by human ecologists to study and address environmental problems, such as ecological footprint analysis, life cycle assessment, and ecosystem modelling.
- Assessment method
- The students can acquire an offered grade by writing the two midterm tests during the semester. If they do not accept the grade then they can take the oral exam during the exam period.
