- The aim of this course is to get participants acquainted with the knowledge how business organizations are functioning as fundamental units of the economy and society. Students will learn about the characteristics of human work in organizations, understand the behaviour of leaders and subordinates, peculiarities of groupwork in work settings as well as the design and cultural aspects of an organization as a whole. Applicable management methods and tools with their expected effects will also be covered within the different topics. Intended Learning Outcomes: On successful completion of this course, students should be able to: understand management terminology and apply it in work situations understand and explain what constitutes a manager’s job through the functions of planning, organizing, controlling, and leading understand and analyze how organizations and their smaller units function through concepts of organizational structure, organizational culture, and team work Links to Sustainable Development Goals: On successful completion of this course, students should be able to connect topics taught to the SDGs: Promote peaceful and inclusive societies for sustainable development, provide access to justice for all and build effective, accountable and inclusive institutions at all levels (SDG 16) Promote sustained, inclusive and sustainable economic growth, full and productive employment and decent work for all (SDG 8) Build resilient infrastructure, promote inclusive and sustainable industrialization and foster innovation (SDG 9)

- The Course’s Main Topics among Others are: Introduction to Management, Basics of Organizations and Management Functions of Management, Management Roles, and Managerial Skills The Evolution of Management Theory Motivation Within Organisations and Its Theories Organizational Structure and Culture in a Multicultural Environment Management of Groups and Teams, Groupwork Leadership Issues and Styles Contemporary Management Issues

- Grades offered during the semester: 60-69% satisfactory, 70-84% good, 85-100% excellent Examination grade: 50-54% pass, 55-69%, satisfactory, 70-84% good, 85-100% excellent The current assessment and evaluation requirements of the ELTE GTK apply, which can be found on the GTK TH website under the student's level of training.
