- The purpose of the course is to get students acquainted with the goals of inferential statistics and the related tools, like the setup of a confidence interval, testing hypotheses, examining the relationships between two variables by means of correlation and regression analysis. Learning outcomes and competences: Knowledge: Master the basic theories and characteristics of the micro and macro levels of organisation of the economy, and will have mastered the basic methods of information gathering, mathematical and statistical analysis. Bear the knowledge and understanding of the principles and methods of managing, organising and operating economic processes, the methodology of analysing economic processes, the methodological basis for preparing and supporting decisions. Familiar with the use of IT tools to support the operation of organisations and management processes. Master the use of tables and graphs to present data in a professional manner. Skills: Use the theories and methods learnt, discover facts and basic relationships, organise and analyse, draw independent conclusions and make critical observations Attitude: Apply economic problem-solving techniques and problem-solving methods, taking into account the conditions and limitations of their application Autonomy and responsibility: Receptive to new information, new professional knowledge and methodologies, open to taking on new tasks and responsibilities that require autonomy and cooperation. Accountable for his/her analyses, conclusions and decisions. Organises, manages and controls economic activities in an economic organisation and in an economic job according to his/her qualifications. As a member of projects, teams and departments, he/she carries out his/her tasks independently and responsibly

- Main content and topics: Sampling distribution of the sample mean Confidence intervals Parametric hypothesis tests for a single population and for two populations ANOVA Nonparametric tests: goodness-of-fit tests, test of independence, nonparametric alternatives for the two-sample t-test Bivariate correlation and regression analysis

- Colloquium. Assessment on a 5-grade scale. Examination type: written exam, test questions.
