- General graphic software and GIS modules for graphic software. Antecedents, characteristics and examples: CorelDraw, Adobe Illustrator, ACD Systems Canvas X GIS, Avenza MAPublisher.
Solutions for the digitalization of printed maps. Import of scanned files and page setup. Definition and use of layers. Auxiliary tools (snap, guidelines, etc)
Defining the graphic properties of the objects: contour lines and fills. Colour models.

Use of graphic effects on the maps
Using a GIS module in a graphic application: importing GIS files, defining and georeferring a base map
Interaction between the drawing and editing options in a graphic application with a GIS module. Topology-based drawing and editing tools.
Using and modifying an attribute table: attribute-based graphic editing and definition of attribute-based filters
Automatized and manual formatting of the nomenclature on a map. Definition and use of symbols on a map.
Making of thematic maps and formatting of the map sheet
