Oktatás célja
The subject give an overview about the milling environment (tools, holders, vice…) in case of Edge CAM. Use the possible cycles of milling until the positional 5 axis machining. Generate NC code and modify post processor. Process based programing with strategy manager. Programing CNC lathe and milling machine with Siemens 828D. Use ShopTurn and ShopMill in case of simulator (SinuTrain) and machine. Students who meet the requirements of the course have sufficient knowledge of Shop Turn / Shop Mill programming on Siemens CNC machines. Also, the basic operation of the CAM system is properly mastered in a milling environment. They are familiar with the process of postprocessor development and flowchart-based programming.

Schedule of theory Week 1: Sinutrain training. Week 3: Basics of technical development CAD-CAE-CAM-CNC Week 5: Basics of technical development CAD-CAE-CAM-CNC II. Week 7: Postprocessor Development - EdgeCAM Week 9: Using pins for positioning Week 11: Homework consultation: projection of specific programs and common identification of errors Week 13: Sinutrain training. Schedule of practice Week 1: Open milling environment, view and basic settings. CAD model loading, semi-finished product, zero point placement. Machining: face milling, drilling, tapping (with chamfer, without chamfer), corrugation, finishing, chamfering Week 2: Use of ShopTurn, raw material definition, zero point placement, basic programming Week 3: Clamping workpiece for milling. Inserting the vise afterwards and at the beginning of the program. Preparing milling and drilling tools. Run a real-time simulation. Week 4: ShopTurn programming, CNC machining, tool and workpiece measurement. Week 5: Set the drilling order for a multi-hole workpiece. Machining on several identical workpieces in the same and in separated coordinate system. Use of PCI template and optimization for tool changes. Week 6: ShopTurn multi-axis machining - turning and with the use of C-axis drilling, milling. Use of CNC machines. Rod feeder operation and programming. Week 7: Positioned multi-axis machining, inserting vices from a template, loading a postprocessor Week 8: Use of Shop Mill with 3-axis milling cycles. Week 9: Methodology for NC program generation and postprocessor repair for G code output and machine model Week 10: Use of Shop Mill with 3-axis milling cycles, use of CNC machines. Workpiece measurement and tool measurement. Week 11: Test Week 12: Using the Strategy Manager and an example of creating a machining process strategy Week 13: Using ShopMill and programming in-program measurements (workpiece and tool)

50% of the practical assignment is: Flawless CAM program and normal documentation. An additional 50% depending on the quality of documentation The grades are determined with the following scale: 87 – 100 %   excellent (5) 75 – 86 %     good (4) 63 – 74 %     satisfactory (3) 50 – 62 %     pass (2) 0 – 49 %       fail (1)
