Oktatás célja
Course content The course explores the history of Freemasonry with its rich cultural and visual heritage. Students will learn about various aspects of the Masonic brotherhood, including its historical development, origin myths, tenets, secrets, initiations, rituals, symbols, and its visual and material culture. Furthermore, such topics will be addressed as Freemasonry’s connection to religion, Enlightenment, Templarism, cosmopolitanism, nationalism, women, esotericism, alchemy, and Kabbalah. The course will also cover the history of the academic research into Freemasonry, and its challenges. Required reading Bogdan, Henrik and Jan A. M.
