- The course will guide the students to the world of ancient iconography, i.e. the study of images and how to interpret them. The topics will include mythological as well as historical depictions preserved in famous sculptures, wall paintings, mosaics, buildings and coins. We can dive into the sphere of ancient gods, heroes, or just mortals dating back to over 2 millennia that still live on with us today in our everyday lives.
