- Oktatás célja
- The subject contributes to the development of the following professional competences: Knowledge Students Understand the core concepts of Library and Information science and know the specific terminology of the field. Know the core concepts of communication, organization, marketing, networking, building partnerships and alliances, planning, project management, quality management, human resource development in order to fulfil their duties related to information and knowledge organisation. Skills Students The core concepts of library and information science and the related special vocabulary appear in their everyday professional vocabulary and used with confidence. Able to understand and interpret texts, including those containing visual signs, typographical marks and icons, as well as charts, data series, visual texts, moving and still images, maps and diagrams. Capable of written and oral communication when cooperating with users, with partners (publishers, libraries, booksellers, database providers, IT developers, other public collections, cultural and educational institutions) and with governing bodies and able to develop these skills. Attitudes Students Strive to facilitate the development of information literacy and the ability to critically evaluate information across all sectors of society. Accept quality management approach already widespread in libraries and the duties and the responsibilities it involves. Autonomy and responsibility Students Join research and development projects becoming increasingly common in the library field, and responsibly mobilise their theoretical and practical knowledge and skills in cooperation with the other members of the project team. Able to provide strong advocacy for successful project implementation. Able to exploit excellent organisational and initiative skills for public relations and project applications.
