- Oktatás célja
- To conceptualize the U.S. as the community of individual states and of different cultural regions, with a special focus on the Northeast and the South.
- Tantárgy tartalma
- This civilization course explores the regional and local characteristics of the United States by examining the cultural regions of the Northeast and the South. Besides the regional and subregional overviews, students will be introduced to the geography, local history, sights, and cultural heritage of 24 states in these two regions. The course can be complemented by another part in the spring semesters that examines the 26 states of the Midwest and the West.
- Számonkérés és értékelés
- Grades will be based on presentations accompanied by handouts (50%), regular in-class quizzes that consist of blank maps, geographical and state raids, and the readings (50%).
