- This course aims at offering a survey of the main trends of 20th century American literature.
- Course content
- This course aims at offering a survey of the main trends and schools of 20th century American literature: the main topics include Modernism in prose and poetry, the Harlem Renaissance and the development of African-American literature; 20th century women writers; Postmondernism in prose and poetry; popular culture and literature; 20th century American drama; ethnic identities in literature.
- Assessment method
- Completing the weekly assignments: reading the assigned texts, and submitting short weekly feedbacks on them. 4-6 page essay on a chosen topic. Active in-class participation.
