Learning outcomes
The course intends to examine various British contemporary award winning auteur films by analysing their political, social, economic and cultural context.
Course content
We will watch and successively discuss some important scenes from various British auteur films from a selected list of contemporary award-winning British films and we shall discuss their social, economic and cultural context. Films are to be selected by the group from a suggested list during the first class.
Assessment method
A 5-page printed and referenced seminar paper on one of the 6 films we picked and watched, if you miss 2 double occassions, with your supervisor’s permission, you need to write a comparative paper (8 pages) on 2 or more films, and submit it by the given deadline.
