Learning outcomes
The course intends to examine various British contemporary award winning auteur films by analysing their political, social, economic and cultural context.
Course content
There will be 6 double classes from 2 to 5 Tuesdays to watch and successively to discuss some important scenes from various British auteur films from a selected list of contemporary award-winning British films and we shall discuss their social, economic and cultural context. Films are to be selected by the group from a suggested list during the first class.
Assessment method
A 5-page printed and referenced seminar paper on one of the 6 films we picked and watched, if you miss 2 double occassions, with your supervisor’s permission, you need to write a comparative paper (8 pages) on 2 or more films, and submit it by the given deadline.
