- The course aims at a chronological and topological survey of 20th and early 21st century science fiction film in America.
- Tantárgy tartalma
- Film theory, genre theory and science fiction film theory will provide the framework for discussing the films. Apart from a historical overview, and a pop-cultural contextualisation, the class will also focus on how science fiction films relate to and reflect on current social issues, like race relations, gender constructions, identity formation, and various political and social phenomena.
- Számonkérés és értékelés
- Completing the weekly assignments: watching the films, reading the theoretical texts, and submitting short weekly feedbacks on the films. 6-8 page essay on a chosen topic. Active in-class participation.
