- A) Knowledge Aware of the most typical examples of 18th century French literary genres (novel, drama, poetry). Based on the studied texts, he/she gets to know the work of the most significant French authors of the 18th century. B) Skills Able to easily understand and analyze 18th century texts with their specific vocabulary and stylistic features. Able to place 18th century texts within the framework of the history of French literature, genre and ideas, and to evaluate their characteristics in the light of the works of previous and future ages. C) Attitudes Interested in the literature of the country (France) associated with the language he/she chose to study. Wishes to be acquainted with this literature as thoroughly as possible. D) Autonomy and responsibility Seeks to acquire knowledge beyond the material of the seminar in addition to the obligatory texts, to get to know other works of the authors as well as the works of other authors. When interpreting texts in the history of ideas, he/she treats the sensitivity of a bygone era, which is reflected in his literary works and often differs from ours, with appropriate empathy and objectivity. At the same time, he/she uses the lessons of these works that are still valid today in shaping his own thinking and views.

- Final grade based on two dissertations (textual analysis) and active participation during seminars.
