The student is knowledgeable about the history of writing European and Hungarian language coursebooks The student is knowledgeable about the language coursebook writing practices of certain periods The student is capable of understanding the development of writing grammars and language coursebooks The student can solve issues during teaching Hungarian using a wide range of solutions based on the traditions of the discipline

Tantárgy tartalma

This subject defines applied linguistics, gives an overview of the history of teaching Hungarian as a foreign language and introuduces a wide range of publications of coursebooks and grammars to students. It provides insight to the coursebooks published in the historical Hungary for the non-Hungarian speaking members of the people of „Hungarus”. as well as those published abroad from the beginnings to the latest generation of coursebooks. These publications are important milestones of the Hungarian grammatical literature, and knowing them can provide students with important experience even in today’s language teaching practices.
