- The subject provides a detailed discussion of some of the most important European literary theories. Along with the hermeneutical and deconstructive model of literary theory, and the relationship of these two models, this subject also looks at models that defy a narrow definition of literary theory, which define literary theory at the present in terms of modern cultural theories, feminist literary criticism and media studies oriented theories.

- Continuing the literary theoretical introduction presented in the course Literary Theory I, the subject provides a detailed discussion of some of the most important European literary theories. The subject focuses on the philosophical presuppositions, the main interests, the methods, the concepts, categories and the analytical tools of the various literary theoretical schools. The subject emphasizes the importance of the relationships among the theoretical approaches. Along with the hermeneutical and deconstructive models of literary theory, this subject also looks at models that define literary theoretical discourse at the present: cultural theories, feminist literary criticism and media studies oriented theories.
