- Knowledge: - The student completing the Old Hungarian Literature seminar is informed about the most important phenomena of old Hungarian literature, and has a closer view of the most important texts and authors of the old Hungarian literary tradition. - The student interprets the languages of the old Hungarian literature and its literary features, as well as its connections within the Hungarian literary tradition and its historical embeddedness. - The student is aware of the research questions, methods of analysis, and interpretations concerned in the literary studies connected to old Hungarian literature, as well as the basic technical terms of the field. Skills: - The student interprets the linguistic and literary features of the phenomena of old Hungarian literature, as well as their connections and historical embeddedness in the Hungarian literary tradition. - The student writes and speaks in a clear, elaborate style about the questions connected to literary science, and especially to the studies of old Hungarian literature. - The student, considering the possibility of a versatile methodological approach to the problems arising in the field of research of old Hungarian literature, selects and applies the appropriate literary methods. - The student is able to find, read and work with primary literary texts. - The student is able to understand and use specialized texts, secondary literature. - The student is able to do independent seminar work. - The student is able to achieve seminar tasks in the necessary format. Attitudes: - The student understands the literary phenomena of the old Hungarian literature, and their historical and social determination and variability. - The student consciously represents the learned technical language and communication norms, and conveys the thinking of literary science in relation to old Hungarian literature. Autonomy, responsibility: - The student develops a historically and globally coherent individual position that promotes self-awareness and the development of his/her environment. - The student is responsible for his/her written texts, and he/she is aware of the potential professional judgment and ethical implications of their linguistic and literary contents.
- Tantárgy tartalma
- The seminar allows students to go deeper in the analysis of a period of old Hungarian literature to understand its language, social, historical and philosophical background and to recognize changes in genre history by discussing certain influential authors and their characteristic works, genres, discourses or phenomena of a narrower literary historical era within old Hungarian literature.
