- The course is the second language practice course and elaborates on the skills acquired in semester 1. The aim is to reach Level A2 of the CEFR for oral and writing skills. B1 for reading comprehension. Knowledge: Basic to intermediate knowledge of the rules of Dutch language (grammar, vocabulary). Intermediate knowledge of the varieties of the Dutch languages and their differences. Intermediate knowledge of the culture, geography and society of the areas where Dutch is a mother tongue. Read, write and speak on an intermediate level. Skills Able to communicate about the social and cultural topics on a a basic to intermediate level. Ability to improve the knowledge and to apply different methods of knowledge acquisition and self-improvement as well as the latest information and communication technologies. Recognize the relationship between personal development and serving the public good. Ability to apply the procedures and main theories as well as the related terminology to carry out tasks. Ability to plan and organize own autonomous learning and to use a wide range of available sources for that purpose. Ability to present in small or large groups acquired knowledge of the Dutch language field. Attitudes: Open to genuinely communicate and disseminate the general way of thinking. Willing to get acquainted with, accept and genuinely communicate the professional objectives. Strive for cooperation whenever possible in problem solving. Autonomy and responsibility: Capable of thinking independently Open attitude to the Dutch culture and language Creative use of acquired skills Willingness to develop skills beyond the compulsory study
