- Learning outcomes
- The course is the third language practice course and elaborates on the skills acquired in language practice 1 and 2 . The aim is to reach Level B1+ for oral and writing skills. B2 for reading comprehension (CEFR). Knowledge: Intermediate knowledge of the rules of Dutch language (grammar, vocabulary). Intermediate to advanced knowledge of the varieties of the Dutch languages and their differences. Intermediate to advanced knowledge of the culture, geography and society of the areas where Dutch is a mother tongue. Language proficiency to read, write and speak on an intermediate level about topics covered. Knowledge of conventions of letter writing and academic writing. Knowledge of the theories of different forms of more advanced communication: discussion, debate.
- Course content
- Grammar and vocabulary exercises, listening, reading and writing tasks. Lessons on acquiring knowledge about culture, social issues, politics, literature in the various Dutch language areas. Linguistics. Presentation techniques. Reading and presenting newspaper articles.
