- The course can be completed by taking a specialization seminar of the student's choice offered by the department in the given semester. The aim is to deepen the knowledge already acquired in a given field, and to develop the ability to apply the acquired theoretical knowledge in practice. With the help of the topics covered, students will be able to integrate cultural, literary, and linguistic knowledge into their teaching, and will be open to learning new approaches. The student is committed to become intercultural mediator, facilitator during the teaching process. Knowledge: Knows the recent results of linguistic and literary research and cultural history, their methodology. Knowledge of literature and media studies: knowledge of the literature and media culture of Dutch-speaking countries. Cultural knowledge: knowledge of the culture of the Dutch-speaking countries in terms of their history, geography, society and art. Skills: Able to comprehensively review and interpret literary works, other manifestations of the target language culture, the literature on them, and place them in literary and cultural trends. Ability to express himself / herself in both his / her own teaching and writing. Ability to apply his / her knowledge of Dutch-speaking cultures to himself / herself and his / her students in an effective, motivating way for language teaching. Ability to review and interpret literary works and other manifestations of the target language culture, the literature on them, and to place them in literary and cultural trends. Attitude: Considers it important to continuously improve students' knowledge and skills. Realistically assesses the role of the Dutch language and culture in the teaching of the subject. Helps students to learn about universal and national values and to develop a sense of Hungarian identity through personal example. Committed to fostering democratic thinking and considers it important to develop sustainability in regard to environmental awareness and media awareness in the students. Responsibility, autonomy: Ability to search for, review and interpret the literature related to his / her profession about a specific research topic, to plan and implement his / her own professional development, to reflect on his / her classroom and other experiences, to update continuously professionally and linguistically.
- Course content
- The content of the course varies and is given by the department's lecturers in their own current research areas on variable topics of cultural history, literature, and linguistics. The practical application of the acquired theoretical knowledge is facilitated by individual and group assignments to be performed on a weekly basis.
