a) Knowledge: Comprehensive knowledge of the theories of contemporary cultural studies based on specific texts, basic facts, boundaries and directions of the subject. He is familiar with the most important relationships, theories and concepts. He is familiar with the methods of acquiring knowledge and problem solving of the main theories of cultural studies. At the same time, social events, the place of the person in his own age, the relationship between identity and memory are also analyzed. b) Skills: The student should be able to independently process, analyze and present the phenomena and relationships of German-language and Central European German-language culture with the help of the literature and present them in the form of presentations at the exam closing the semester. The aim of the analyses is to develop cognitive competences, which is carried out by the method of contextualization in cultural history. In this way, the development of language competences enjoys primacy, the wide vocabulary of works is passively learned and applied by students in productive language use.  The development of language production as a competence is paramount. He continuously monitors the basic analysis of the disciplines that make up the knowledge system of his field, the synthetic formulation and adequate evaluation of the relationships, applies the procedures, the most important theories of his field and the related terminology when performing his tasks.  He understands and uses the typical online and printed literature of his field in Hungarian and foreign languages, he has the knowledge of effective information search and processing in his field. By completing the course, students will be able to independently talk about the aesthetic dimensions of cultural phenomena and genre determination. Symbolic language use is differentiated, so interactive competencies appear in the process of education. Understands or interprets related cultural trends, as well as texts, tables, series of data, visual texts, still images, maps, diagrams delimited by visual signs, typographical tools, icons. It identifies routine professional problems, explores and formulates the theoretical and practical background necessary to solve them, and solves them with the practical application of standard operations. c) Attitudes: Assumes and credibly represents the social role of his profession, its fundamental relation to the world. To authentically convey and transmit the basic characteristics of the comprehensive way of thinking and practical functioning of your open profession. He strives to make self-education one of the means of achieving his professional goals. It makes its decision in complex and unexpected decision-making situations, taking full account of the laws and ethical standards. d) Autonomy and responsibility: It independently conducts the reflection and development of comprehensive, grounding professional issues on the basis of specific sources, even in unexpected decision-making situations. It carries out the reflection of comprehensive and specialized professional issues on the basis of professional guidance and its elaboration on the basis of specific sources. It carries out its work independently with a critical evaluation and continuous correction of its activities.
Course content
Knowledge of modern, fundamentally interdisciplinary cultural sciences: identity, cultural memory, cultural semiotics, gender studies, cultural anthropology, media history.
