- Terminological clarification (Spanish America, Latin America, Ibero-America; North America, Central America and South America; the so-called Third World). General characteristics of the natural and economic geography of Latin America (location, topography, climate, vegetation, population, economic activities), followed by the geographical and cultural characteristics of the different Latin American countries (language, customs, dances, etc.)
- Course content
- The countries covered in the course are: 1) North America: Mexico 2) Central America: Belize, Guatemala, El Salvador, Honduras, Nicaragua, Costa Rica, Panama and the Caribbean islands (Bahamas, Greater Antilles and Lesser Antilles) 3) South America: Colombia, Venezuela, Bolivia, Peru, Ecuador, "The Three Guianas", Brazil, Paraguay, Uruguay, Argentina, Chile.
- Assessment method
- During the exam period, the students give an oral test of their knowledge. At the start of the oral examination, the student draws a question and reports on the topic and then, after additional questions on other topics, receives a mark, which can be unsatisfactory (1), satisfactory (2), intermediate (3), good (4) or excellent (5) according to a five-level grading system. If you fail (1), you will have to repeat the test.
