- Learning outcomes
- Knowledge: has a perfect command of the A language; has an excellent command of the B language; knows translation competence; has a general knowledge of the translation process. Skills: can produce written translations; produces equivalent texts in the B language that respect linguistic rules, structure and language use of the given language and the terminology of the subject area; selects and uses the correct language transfer operation and translation strategy; uses the translation technique best suited for the text type; translates texts of different genres in a precise way taking into account cultural differences. Attitude: open to professional novelties; open to professional and methodological developments which increase the translator’s efficiency; adapts to the changing professional environment and working conditions; has critical thinking skills and can critically analyze the working conditions of translators; has a critical attitude towards professional processes and their own professional performance; their professional activity and career are characterized by creative problem solving; open to professional novelties and continuous professional development; boasts lifelong learning skills. - The specificities of translation into the B language; conscious B language use; developing B language competence for translation; translation competence, skills, knowledge; methods of translation competence development (A language text analysis and B language text production) strategies and automatisms; the translation process.

- final exam (written translation) and continuous evaluation of home assignment
