Learning outcomes
The purpose of the MA course is to provide an overview of the history of the research traditions and research methods of European ethnology in such a way that, based on the knowledge acquired here, the students are able to initiate their own empirical research, even with the aim of a Master's thesis. The theme of the semester is based around the main conceptual and research nodes of the discourse in European ethnology. Since the time frame intended for one occasion is not suitable for a detailed, complete presentation of the topics, we highlight sub-topics and research schools for each topic, which are the most familiar to the European ethnological approach. We mainly deal with the Swedish researcher Orvar Löfgren and the European Ethnology Workshop in Lund, which has had a significant impact on the field of science over the past three decades.
