- 1) Knowledge - Has basic anatomical knowledge of the organs relevant to speech production. - Knows how the speech organs work from the perspective of phonetics and psycholinguistics. - Knows the language-specific phonetic characteristics of Bulgarian. - Is aware of the characteristics of bilingualism. 2) Skills - Able to apply what they have learned in their future work (teaching, translation, etc.). - Able to understand the connections in the speech cycle. - Able to understand and apply the knowledge they have acquired about speech production and processing in everyday life. 3) Attitude - Strives to consciously apply the linguistic and communicative norms of the given Slavic language area. - Is aware of the importance of the linguistic, literary, and cultural thinking of the given Slavic language. - Considers the possibilities of a multilateral methodological approach to problems in accordance with their knowledge. 4) Autonomy and responsibility - Takes responsibility for texts written in their native language and Bulgarian, and is aware of their possible consequences. - Applies their knowledge of the Bulgarian language in their self-education and self-awareness. Is open to the cultural background of the Bulgarian language.
- Course content
- The subject area of the course is speech science – phonetics and psycholinguistics. Its aim is to familiarize students at a higher level with the characteristics of speech, from the birth of thought through acoustics to speech comprehension. Bulgarian is used as the example language. 1. The physiological basis of speech 2. Speech production models 3. Mental lexicon 4. Phonetic characteristics of speech (acoustic, articulatory, and perceptual levels) 5. Phonetics of the Bulgarian language 6. Speech perception, speech comprehension 7. Reading 8. Hungarian-Bulgarian bilingualism
- Assessment method
- Five-point scale. End-of-semester test 75%, active participation in class 25%.
