- The course will explore the questions of contemporary European crime dramas/series with special focus to their transnational and local/regional specificities. We will begin with a genre-based theoretical overview of crime fiction, which will be followed by critical discussions of relevant concepts, terms and questions (crime and its social-cultural contexts, transnational remakes in crime series, global flows and local trends from Nordic noir to Eastern noir). Following the theoretical introduction, the course will focus on case studies and comparative investigations based on student presentations
