- According to the goal of the course, students have to consider the functioning of the given institutions in an autonomous and creative way. They have to be able to observe museums in various directions, and analyse critically the different fashion waves within museology. They have to apply an interpretative analysis and a continuous self-reflection. The main goal to achieve is to understand the meaning and importance of the Global Museum.
- Course content
- The course based on the museum history lecture, analyses the institution of the museum in the age of parallel modernity, within the context of visual knowledge, meaning and system of objects, capacity of creating explanation to the meaning of exhibitions, from the point of view of the cultural canon. Museums will be discussed as objects of the institution of practical philosophy. We will outline the essential political and urbanistic contexts of museums for understanding their functions in contemporary society.
- Assessment method
- University exam. The basic frame for evaluating student performance of the course determined by the university’s code of conduct. According to this document, the instructor can determine the means of evaluation of the course depending on the nature of the field of knowledge and skills presented at the course. The university exam can take the form on an actual oral exam or a combination of various forms of oral, written and performed performances.
