- Oktatás célja
- As in many public interest initiatives, non-state actors (like civil society groups, professional organizations, supporting individuals or even business enterprises) play a major role in the implementation of heritage projects worldwide. Initiative or support can come from many sources, and this diversity can be summed up as social responsibility. The course aims to place the topic of social responsibility (non-business and non-political initiatives) in a historical and social scientific dimension: to present its historical antecedents and to interpret its historical and social significance. The forms of support are historically and geographically specific, and through this, they characterize the given society as a mirror in the past and the present, as well. The course develops sensitivity to the social context of heritage and strengthens civil awareness which is necessary to nurture heritage and convey its values. Besides, it focuses on the financial aspects of heritage topics, the current and past practices of patronage and sponsorship.
- Tantárgy tartalma
- Because the topic requires an interdisciplinary approach, the course is based on three parts and uses the achievements of history, sociology/social policy, and economics. The starting point is the concept and theoretical framework of social policy, welfare state and civil society. Subsequently, in the second unit, the past forms of social welfare, public sphere, civil society, patronage (cultural support) and the social roles of entrepreneurs/enterprises are processed. Finally, in the last block, today's corporate social responsibility and the situation and activities of the Hungarian civil sphere will be examined.
