- Oktatás célja
- The purpose of the course is (1) to define the concept of urban heritage, (2) to present the concept through its conceptual history, and (3) to examine the current management problems of urban heritage from the point of view of social sciences. As the historical urban landscape has become a key concept in the definition and management of urban heritage, the course will address urban heritage through a detailed analysis of this concept. The historic urban landscape was first officially defined at a conference in Vienna in 2005 and became widespread in the past fifteen years. It is used in many cities around the world to address complex urban heritage issues. The students will learn how to master the holistic methodology of urban heritage management and how to be able to use the acquired knowledge to prepare EU applications in the field of urban heritage
- Tantárgy tartalma
- The course describes the genesis of the historic city centre during the 19th century, and then the process by which, following the logic of cultural heritage regimes, the historic quarter was first defined as a heritage site and then as a historic landscape. Three indicators of the presentation of This extremely complex 150-year process is demonstrated by the following three indicators: (1) the territorial definition of urban heritage; the temporality of urban heritage; the urban heritage community. The students study the concept of urban heritage through the analysis of examples of urban World Heritage sites and cities and towns of European heritage-related initiatives such as European Heritage Label and European Capital of Culture.

- University exam. The basic frame for evaluating student performance of the course determined by the university's code of conduct. According to this document, the instructor can determine the means of evaluation of the course depending on the nature of the field of knowledge and skills presented at the course.
