- The seminar aims to provide students with practical knowledge and skills that they can use successfully in the course of their later careers - as employees or entrepreneurs. The knowledge acquired will contribute to the understanding of the business world and help participants to effectively participate in future business planning and decision-making processes. Knowledge: The students have a high level of German competence, i.e. level C1 according to the Common European Framework of Reference (CEFR) and know another foreign language at a level necessary for dealing with subject content, especially technical terminology. They have a thorough and comprehensive knowledge of the specific written and oral, scientific and public, popularizing genres and contexts of their field. Skills: They have the ability to critically evaluate current research and scholarly activities in the field of literature and linguistics, as well as in interdisciplinary fields. Possessing an original way of perception and thinking, they have the ability to apply their knowledge of linguistic, literary and cultural phenomena in practice. Attitude: They strive to deepen and develop their professional and linguistic knowledge. They are open to approaching their chosen field in an interdisciplinary way. They apply their subject-specific knowledge to understand changes in current society. Autonomy and responsibility: They strive to be always thoroughly informed and constantly keep their knowledge at a high level. In subject-specific questions they are characterized by critical awareness. They consciously reflect on their own historical and cultural embedding.
- Course content
- In the seminars, practical case studies are discussed, business simulation games, costing exercises are performed and authentic materials are interpreted. During the seminar, the following topics, contents are covered with different emphasis: Business Law, Business Objectives and Ratios, Cost Accounting, Balance Sheet, Business and Financial Plan, Marketing and Sales.
