- The purpose of education: Objective of the course: The students will be familiar with the main concepts of intercultural literary studies and transculturalism theory, and will be able to relate examples and cultural phenomena to these concepts. Finally, they should be able to consult the scientific literature. Skills: The student should be able to identify intercultural phenomena, recognise the characteristics of intercultural literature, both linguistic and cultural, and understand their significance for literary history and the transformation of the literary canon. They should be able to grasp the current relevance of the texts analysed and to reflect further on the scholarly literature related to each work. Attitude: Be open to the acquisition, application and further reflection of knowledge. Autonomy, responsibility: The student should be interested in learning about intercultural works of German literature.
- Course content
- The lecture will review the different types of intercultural literature, subdivided by authors, genres and linguistic features. It will introduce the problems of intercultural literature through a detailed analysis of individual works and will demonstrate its innovative character. In addition to the analysis of literary works, the lecture will also seek to present the cultural and historical specificities of the works in question.
