- knowledge: acquaintance with the most common Italian poetic forms from the Middle Ages to our days skills: recognition of the genre of the poem and the time when it was written, acccording to its poetic form attitude: The students understand and accept that the cultural phenomena - in this case the poetic forms - are determined historically, culturally and socially, and that they are changing. autonomy and responsibility: students use their acquired knowledge for self-instruction
- Course content
- Repetition and overview of the basic concepts of metrics; quantitative and accent-based prosody. Types of Italian metric lines. Poetic forms of popular and of musical origin. Variants of the sonnet and the canzone. Old tractates and contemporary handbooks on metrics. The metrical-formal characteristics of the poems of some Italian poets chosen by the students.
