- The aim of the course is to render the historically developed socio-cultural forms of literature interpretable for students within the interrelations of taste, language, and interart contexts. The course supports students in reviewing literary and cultural studies across diverse contexts and in developing interdisciplinary interpretative approaches. It also assists students in organizing the knowledge and methodological perspectives they have acquired. During the semester, selected historical periods are examined in relation to the genres relevant to each era and through the analysis of representative works. The course investigates significant phenomena and processes in Italian literature, culture, and the arts, as well as their connections to contemporary perspectives.

- Assessment method
- The final grade for the oral examination is determined on the basis of the combined performance of several assessment components. 40% – Preparation of independent presentations related to the lectures during the semester. The student’s preparedness is evaluated on the basis of their engagement with the scholarly literature, the required readings, and the artworks discussed in connection with the course syllabus. During the exam 20% – Presentation and interpretation of a work independently selected in advance, during which the student introduces the context of the work and outlines their own interpretative approach. 20% – Discussion of a general topic related to a historical period or genre, assessing the student’s comprehensive knowledge of the course material and their ability to think in terms of broader connections. 20% – Interpretation of an excerpt from a literary work, in which the student analyzes the specific features of the passage and situates it within the context of the work and its historical period.
