- The presentation — based on the introductory subjects received as part of the BA training — reviews the kinship relationships of the Slavic languages within the Indo-European language family, discusses the special relationship between the Baltic and Slavic languages, then outlines the kinship relationships within the Slavic branch, the process of differentiation of the Proto-Slavic language, it also lists the most important Old Slavic literary texts. The focus of the course is on the earliest written state of the Slavic language, the Old Slavic language and Old Slavic literary monuments, which contain basic information essential for the history and culture of all Slavic languages. It discusses the Old Slavic sound and morphology in the light of the data of the Indo-European languages, the cultural background of the emergence of the Old Slavic language monuments, as well as its literary historical significance. The accompanying seminar basically involves text analysis, the task is phonetic, etymological, morphological, genre and stylistic analysis of selected fragments of Old Slavic texts with the help of available manuals and dictionaries.

- Assessment method
- Five-level evaluation, based on the results of the tasks completed during the semester.
