Description
To understand the principles of investment theories, corporate and project financing decisions and opportunities. One of the goals of the course to discuss capital market equilibrium, the relationship of risk and return. Students get to know the basic concepts of capital market efficiency and derivatives. The course provides an overview of the theory of corporate and project financing and the elements of financial planning. The course introduces the main corporate and project financing instruments, markets and institutions, analyses and indicators, and reviews corporate loan products and the fundamentals of the lending process.
Learning outcomes
"Investments and Financing" explains the essential characteristics of financial markets from investment and financing points of view. The subject is divided into two parts. In the first part, students learn about investments, including different chapters of portfolio management theories. The primary goal of the first part is to show the complexity of the relationship between risk and expected return. The second part provides insight into financing theory, capital structure decisions, business planning, the introduction of financing alternatives, commercial banking lending activities, and project financing. Intended Learning Outcomes: On successful completion of this course, students should be able to: Analyze financial investments from a risk-return point of view; Evaluate and appraise financing opportunities.
