Title Children's rights in the EU law and policy Lecturer(s): Prof. Dr. Orsolya Szeibert DEPARTMENT OF CIVIL LAW Contact email address:  szeibert@ajk.elte.hu Brief description The aim of the course is for students to learn about children's rights, the history of children’s rights such as the UN Convention on the Rights of the Child (1989)(CRC). A further aim is to discuss how children’s rights and requirements of child protection is implemented in Europe and the countries of the European Union. Besides, the course focuses on EU Strategy on the Rights of the Child. The solutions and legal institutions of European countries are discussed and compared. Materials/Recommended readings The course is on Canvas, all material is uploaded Assessment/Exam The assessment of the course is based upon the independent work of the students, their group work. Students have to complete assignments and quizzes on Canvas continuously.
