- To introduce the perspectives and basic concepts of scientific psychology and the theories most relevant to children's education. To lay the foundations for the subjects of developmental psychology and educational psychology, and to stimulate the need for self and peer learning. To prepare students to analyse and enhance the effectiveness of pedagogical work as an interactive activity in a social space. To promote the development of a tolerant and empathic approach.
- Course content
- The subject, areas and perspectives of psychology. Concept of personality, theoretical approaches. Cognitive processes that underlie learning: perception-perception, attention, memory, imagination, thinking. Intelligence and creativity. Psychological understanding of learning. Learning as behaviour change. Drivers of our behaviour: motivations and emotions. The concept of mental health. Stress and its effects, coping strategies. Basics of social cognition: perception and impression formation.
