- Learning outcomes
- The aim of the MA-ERA-IACS-S-007 course is to introduce international students to the fundamental features of the Latin language, while also providing them with insight into selected aspects of Roman culture (and other Latin-language cultures). Within the core curriculum, the following irregular verbs are included: sum, possum, volo, eo. Among pronouns, the core material covers personal pronouns, is, hic, ille, and qui (taking into account that the declension of possessive pronouns does not differ from that of adjectives). In the case of the declensions, the core material also includes the vocative and the locative cases. The linguistic core material is covered in the following readings of the Ferenczi–Monostori textbook indicated in the course description: II/1, 3, III/1. It is considered a realistic objective to complete the four readings and the corresponding grammatical material during the semester (supplemented by a brief overview of the subjunctive (coniunctivus), as well as comparison of adjectives and the formation of adverbs, which are not included in the core material).

- Assessment method
- Assessment is based on written tests related to the individual linguistic topics, the schedule of which is communicated by the instructors at the beginning of the semester. The student has to write a term-paper during the semester. It must be min 15000 character and the topic is free to choose.
