- A wide-ranging introduction to the methods of the art historian and the history of the discipline. Themes include modernity, formalism, connoisseurship, iconography, institutional critique, methodologies informed by contemporary theory. During the seminar we will get acquainted with the basic examples of the Hungarian art institutional system, e.g. the collections of the Museum of Fine Arts - Hungarian National Gallery, Ludwig Museum Budapest, Museum of Ethnography, other specialised museums and the most important sites of contemporary art.
