- The course aims to provide foreign students with an overview of the architecture of the Hungarian capital city in the 18th-20th centuries, while also reflecting on the general architectural and urban planning issues of the period. Following introductory lectures, the rest of the course will be held outside the classroom, in the buildings discussed. We will explore some characteristic and high-quality, but not necessarily well-known, pieces of the capital's architectural heritage, roughly in chronological order. When selecting the buildings, the aim was to achieve the greatest possible diversity of functions and urban environments, as well as to include, where possible, new research findings.
