Oktatás célja
This seminar continues the thematic route opened by the course held in the first semester on the intellectual and institutional history of cultural heritage, moving the focus on more recent phenomena which have emerged in the late twentieth century and the contemporary period. It stimulates students to get experience on the perspectives, debates, challenges and chances of the present-day protection and politics of heritage by allowing them to research a single collection, institution, monument care or exhibition individually. In this way, they build a sense of autonomy helping them conceptualize problems and find practical solutions in their professional activity in the future.
Tantárgy tartalma
The knowledge acquired in the previous semester, providing historical context for the contemporary scene, will be broadened and deepened by several case studies, showing the agendas and dilemmas appearing on the national level of heritage making as well as in its connection to both the European and local levels. While the course in the first semester has been centred on the system of state-sponsored institutions and the national sphere of academic disciplines, this one will add emphasis on the social reception and perceptions of cultural heritage, as well as the link between heritage experts and the public.
Számonkérés és értékelés
Practice grade. The basic frame for evaluating student performance of the course determined by the university's code of conduct. According to this document, the instructor can determine the means of evaluation of the course depending on the nature of the field of knowledge and skills presented at the course. A practice grade usually takes the form of an evaluation based on written and/or presented works related to the student's work at a seminar individually or as a member of a student team.
