- The primary goal of the course is to deepen the students' methodological knowledge, to present the various research methods used in the field of cultural heritage, which help the students to prepare quality master's theses. In addition, it generally prepares students to conduct research and write studies on cultural heritage in accordance with scientific standards. The lessons develop the students' expressiveness and problem-oriented independent thinking.

- Within the framework of the seminar, students can acquire all the knowledge necessary for the preparation of a dissertation presenting cultural heritage in accordance with scientific standards, from compiling the bibliography to using Internet sources and databases, from the methods of editing the scientific text to the correct forms of footnote and citation. Within the framework of the seminar, according to the pre-defined criteria, each student compiles the work plan of his / her planned dissertation, which we discuss together in terms of questioning, feasibility, planned structure, resources, methodology and literature to be used.

- Practice grade. The basic frame for evaluating student performance of the course determined by the university's code of conduct. According to this document, the instructor can determine the means of evaluation of the course depending on the nature of the field of knowledge and skills presented at the course. A practice grade usually takes the form of an evaluation based on written and/or presented works related to the student's work at a seminar individually or as a member of a student team.
