- This course enables students to appreciate and creatively adapt the aspects and goals proposed by the cultural policy of the European Union and its member states during their professional career. They will achieve the intellectual fundamentals necessary for the development of the partnership between the cultural policies promoting European and Hungarian cultural heritage.
- Tantárgy tartalma
- The problem of the historical and cultural identity of Europe has returned with new intensity within the political framework of the European Union. This identitarian demand has promoted the production of a European history transcending the often antagonistic national historical narratives and has aimed to fill the political framework with fresh meaning based on shared culture and history as instruments strengthening legitimacy and stability. A set of lieux de mémoire, a repertoire of material and immaterial features representing European history are being constructed, and the European character of various components of the formerly nationalised pasts emerges. The course explains the processes, institutions and modalities of European heritage making. It investigates the cultural programs launched by European institutions, civil associations and societies, and the making of a shared, continental supranational sense of identity, with its emphasis on cultural connectedness and diversity. It outlines the historical process shaping these European policies since the emergence of the idea of Europe, as well as the respective academic projects. Finally, it pays attention to the interconnection of the European and national levels of heritage making.
- Számonkérés és értékelés
- Practice grade. The basic frame for evaluating student performance of the course determined by the university's code of conduct. According to this document, the instructor can determine the means of evaluation of the course depending on the nature of the field of knowledge and skills presented at the course. A practice grade usually takes the form of an evaluation based on written and/or presented works related to the student's work at a seminar individually or as a member of a student team.
