Learning outcomes
The scope of the course is to introduce the students to the history and the archaeology of the Peloponnese.
Course content
Chronologically the course covers the period from the Bronze Age to the Roman Imperial period. Topics will be selected according to the interests of the participants but will most probably include Olympia, Mycenae, Sparta, Messene, Corinth, Argos. At the end of the semester (May-June), we are planning a trip to the Peloponnese in order to visit the most important sites. Participants are free to join, but everyone has to cover the costs of travelling and accommodation.
Assessment method
An oral presentation of a site/topic will be used to determine the score.
