- The goal of the course is to make students familiar with the history and oeuvre of the most significant female directors of the East-Central European region. As part of the theoretical introduction we will discuss the question whether it is possible to speak about "female voice" in art, and what this notion could mean in connection with cinema. After the introduction to the most important questions and concepts of gendered and feminist film criticism, the course will focus on the oeuvre of female directors from Poland, Czech and Slovak Republic, and Hungary.
