- The aim of this course is to understand why Americans live the way they live and do the things they do. As always, the answers are complex, but interesting. The course also looks at the historical context for the growth and change of American culture, and it’s impact on international culture.
- Course content
- The class primarily focuses on reading cultural and anthropological accounts of the state of American culture and how it fits into global culture. There is an emphasis on the reality of this culture versus the perception of it (both internally and from outsiders).
