- a) Knowledge: knows the rules of spoken and written German and Hungarian in language use. Is familiar with the adequate use of German and Hungarian in autentic contexts and situations, which can be used to model the adequate use German and Hungarian, especially with regard to the language tools that can be assigned to different levels of the language sytems and to speech acts in a German-Hungarian contrasting relationship. b) Abilities: Able to apply the rules of spoken and written German and Hungarian effectively in the context of current language use and to transfer this knowledge in education. Able to approach everyday verbal situations from a contrastive perspective and to apply theoretical categories of contrastive linguistics, also able to create connections between them. Able to analyze his / her subject knowledge of language use in a complex way and apply this knowledge in language teaching. Able to synthesize his knowledge of contrastive linguistics with his knowledge and competence acquired in other disciplines (eg systems linguistics, pragmatics. text linguistics, communication in the classroom). c) Attitude: He considers it important to continuously improve students' knowledge and skills in language use. He realistically judges the role of contrastive linguistics in education. Consciously take advantage of the possibilities of the transfer effect (language tools that can be assigned to different levels of the linguistic system and also to speech acts). He/she is open to accommodating aspects of pragmatic analysis. d) Autonomy and responsibility: takes responsibility for the development of his own linguistic, contrastive and intercultural competence, and within that, his pragmatic competence.
- Course content
- At the seminar students will learn about the basic categories and methods of contrastive linguistics, relating them to students’ knowledge of system linguistics, pragmatics and text linguistics. The concepts and methods learned are applied through the analysis of authentic language examples, texts and discourses. The core of the knowledge to be acquired is command of language tools that can be assigned to them in German-Hungarian comparison. Other elements of the knowledge to be acquired: regularitites of the acqusition processes of German as L2 or L3 on the basis of Hungarian as L1, knowledge of lerner corpora, learner dictionaries and course materials developed according to contrastive principals also in German-Hungarian comparison).
