Course content
At the seminar students will learn about the basic categories of linguistic pragmatics, in particular speech acts, and linguistic tools available to them, with contrastive perspective on Hungarian and German. Students had by this point already acquired knowledge on text linguistics within the framework of a communicative-pragmatic-based analytical model, with the help of which students as future teachers will be able to analyze the most frequent types of authentic written and spoken texts used in language teaching in a complex way. Students will also be able to determine which texts may be used in language teaching and to assess reading and writing comprehension skills necessary for language learners.
Assessment method
The seminar is graded on a five-point scale based on seminar papers, closed-book exams, presentations, weekly homework assignments, or other work. The seminar leader will announce the requirements for completion during the first class.
